Server Console

This is the main screen.
Your JBoss 7 is obviously not running (technically: http://localhost:8080/index.html doesn't return any content).
Click on the Play button on the left.

Buttons on the left:
* Start server
* Stop server
* Options window
* Quickfilter

(*) Show all lines
E: Show lines containing ERROR messages and nothing else (lines in red)
W: Show lines containing WARNING messages only (lines in orange)
I: Show lines containing INFO messages only
O: Show lines containing log output from your packages only (lines in bold letters)

Now the server is running and this tool catches the output.
In this screen my own packages are de.ard.hr.zonk, so everything containing this string will be printed bold

Now I had an exception in my webapp and I used the quickfilter
[O] (show lines from my packages only) on the left side
and it showed me concisely what went wrong.

Via right click over the output pane a context menu appears.

Ctrl+F (or right-clicking in the output pane) show a Search Window
F3 to get to the next occurrence.

Options

Here you can adjust the server settings.
Eg. When you click on the 'Play' button, the command

c:/java/jboss-as-7.1.1.Final/bin/standalone.bat

will be run

You can set your own package here.
Lines containing

your.own.package

will be printed in bold letters
in the output window.

INI-file serverConsole.ini:

This settings file will be generated the first time you use Server Console.

E.g. If your server is not localhost, you have to change SERVER_HOST.
